The Interreg NEXT MED Programme is pleased to announce the upcoming launch Call for Green Transition Projects, aimed at fostering scalable, collaborative solutions for a climate-resilient, low-carbon Mediterranean. This call provides a unique opportunity to address the multifaceted challenges of climate change in the Mediterranean region.

As the region is warming 20% faster than the global average, leading to significant challenges for communities, ecosystems and economies, the call aims to enable collective action and empower stakeholders to deliver impactful, sustainable projects aligned with the main global climate commitments.

With an EU budget of €83.7 million, the call adopts a comprehensive approach to tackle the consequences of climate change by focusing on key environmental sectors – energy efficiency, circular economy, climate adaptation and disaster resilience, and sustainable water management – and expanding to other critical areas, such as SMEs’ decarbonization, green innovation, skills for climate resilience, health system adaptation to climate change, and inclusive governance for effective climate policies.

Following the decision of the Monitoring Committee, the decision-making body of the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, the call will officially launch mid-January 2025 and close mid-April 2025.

From now on, interested organizations are encouraged to begin working on partnership building and project idea development using the available resources mentioned below.
