Challenge Statement: Construction Decarbonization

How can we achieve minimized embodied carbon through innovative design strategies, low carbon materials and novel construction technologies?

Pain Points

- Difficult to test and verify low embodied carbon materials

- Difficulty in overcoming regulatory hurdies for construction-based low embodied carbon materials

- Lack of clear economic incentives to adopt low embodied carbon materials

The challenge owner is seeking for solutions that meet the following topics: Digital Design to Advance Sustainability Performance; Plan for Whole-Life Carbon; Innovative Construction Methodologies; Ready to Pilot.
