The market analysis could lead to a pilot project of solutions for secure bicycle parking during 2025.
Secure bicycle parking" should be understood in the present context as solutions that enclose a bicycle (bike boxes or lockers), or that otherwise secure the user's bicycle without the use of a lock. The solution should be targeted at the municipality's citizens, who will be able to use the solution in connection with parking bicycles in public spaces.
The municipality will receive input from companies up to and including January 12, 2025. After which we will collect and review the inquiries. If deemed necessary, we will subsequently contact selected companies to collect additional information and continue the market dialogue. Further dialogue with companies will contribute to the municipality's understanding of the market and the proposed solutions.
Ambition behind the market dialogue: The municipality has ambitions to reduce car traffic and increase bicycle traffic.
To achieve this goal, one of the aims is to improve the experience for cyclists, including offering better parking solutions that can help prevent bicycle theft. In the municipality, we are working on the assumption that secure bicycle parking solutions can create better results compared to the bicycle parking solutions (e.g. bicycle racks) that are available at S-train and metro stations and in public spaces today.
The municipality wants to learn more about which solutions are available on the market today and potentially conduct a pilot project with selected solutions. The input collected, the results from the market dialogue and any experiences from pilot projects will together form the basis for possible future procurement processes and the value of the contract.
Pilot project: After the market dialogue, the municipality will decide whether to proceed with a pilot project.
The municipality expects that pilot projects will be carried out with solutions from 1 – 3 companies.
Pilot projects are expected to last 3 – 12 months.
The ambition is that pilot projects will be started in the first half of 2025.
It is expected that pilot project(s) will be set up at a train or metro station.

The municipality wants to receive input from companies that offer secure bicycle parking solutions. This includes, bike boxes, bike lockers, or other solutions that lock a bicycle without a lock provided by the user. The solution must be able to be installed outdoors and in public spaces (e.g. at S-train and metro stations) and withstand exposure to wind and weather.
The municipality prefers a solution that does not need electricity and does not need to be connected to a power grid. However, we want to hear from both companies that offer solutions that do not require a connection to the power grid and those that do.
The solution must be user-friendly. It must be easy to access the solution, easy to secure a bicycle, and easy to collect a bicycle.
The solution must also be easy to use from an operational, maintenance, and administrative perspective.
