We welcome applications for an open junior postdoctoral position in the field of neutron-star population synthesis. The successful applicant will be hosted within the MAGNESIA group, which conducts leading research on a broad range of compact-object science. The group is part of IEEC and based at the Institute of Space Sciences (ICE-CSIC) in Cerdanyola del Vallès.

Funcions
In this role, the successful candidate will:
- Work with a diverse team of astronomers, astrophysicists and research engineers to improve existing scientific software and lead the development of pipelines to simulate the emission of pulsars.
- Analyse the neutron-star population using astronomical multi-wavelength data.
- Develop parameter-estimation tools for pulsar population synthesis using novel machine-learning tools and perform inference experiments.
- Interface with colleagues at the Port d'Informació Científica (PIC) that provides HPC/HTC resources and support.
- Write software documentation, user tutorials, and research publications.
- Present research results at international conferences and workshops.
- Assist with the supervision of BSc/MSc/PhD students.
