The Energy Storage, Harvesting and Catalysis Group announces a new postdoctoral position to work in the OLiBat project “Stable olivine cathode materials with high specific energy for solid-state batteries” funded by MCIN/AEI/EU “NextGenerationEU/PRTR”. The project is committed to the fabrication of solid-state batteries using 3D printing. The candidate will focus on the cathode component, characterizing its structure and physico-chemical properties including surface area, particle size, electrical properties, and electrochemistry in half- and full-cell. The project also involves deposition of thin (protective) coatings using ALD aiming to simultaneously enhance electrode cycle life and kinetics.
We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated candidate to join these activities. Therefore, the candidate should have a degree in chemistry or a PhD in Materials Science or similar, and a strong background in material characterization including electrochemistry. Previous experience in surface engineering or thin film fabrication will be valued positively. The candidate should have good communication and project management skills, and she/he must be fluent in English, results-oriented and a team player. It is expected that relevant project results to be published in high-impact journals.
Deadline for applications: 25 October 2023
