The groups of Sergio O. Valenzuela and Klaas-Jan Tielrooij at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) are offering a joint postdoctoral position in the field of quantum transduction, within the ICN2 Quantum Synergy Laboratory (QSL).
The project focuses on developing quantum devices that harness the potential of topological and quantum materials, to enable novel processes for the transduction and transfer of information. The devices will combine the use of light- and spin-degrees of freedom. More specifically, the postdoctoral fellow will explore the generation of excitons in transition metal dichalcogenides in connection to the transfer and monitoring of spin information in graphene.
Main Tasks and responsibilities:
The postdoctoral researcher will adapt experimental equipment, design and prepare light-to-spin conversion devices using ICN2 nanofabrication facilities and will carry out optical and transport measurements at cryogenic temperatures, while participating in a established collaboration with the ICN2 theory group of Stephan Roche.
Deadline for applications: 30/12/24
