Postdoctoral researcher in highly selective drug systems against cancer stem cells per al IQAC – Institut de Química Avançada de Catalunya – CSIC

The Institute for Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (IQAC-CSIC) is offering a five-year contract for a postdoctoral researcher to work on the project SeleCStem, funded by an ERC Starting Grant, aimed to eliminate Cancer Stem Cells by developing innovative drugs that leverage the expression of the enzyme aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) in these cells, achieving a much more selective treatment than other therapies under development.

The selected person will be responsible for designing molecules using computational approaches, synthesising the designed molecules, determining the photochemical properties of the molecules, evaluating biological activity in previously optimised assays with purified enzymes and studying the activity in cancer cell lines of the molecules.

The candidate must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field.
