- Mechanical design (from the conceptual design up to the detailed design) of devices/systems for synchrotron instrumentation including generation of specifications (picked up from the scientific needs), design reports and performance/acceptance test reports. The Project engineer is the responsible for the 3D files obtained as output of the design, including assemblies and FEM. It is also the responsible/spoke person in the different design review meetings.
- Supervision and approval of the manufacturing documentation (2D drawings) produced by the draft-man at the transversal section.
- Follow-up of the manufacturing process (requestor of purchase orders, contracts and preparation/follow-up of call for tenders if necessary). Follow-up of the in-house manufacturing.
- Test and validation of the manufactured devices/systems. Acceptance test reports and mechanical metrology
- Support to other groups and divisions (experiments division and accelerators division) on the development of mechanical devices and systems.
