Call for innovation: solutions for a better management of voltage fluctuations and current imbalances in Low Voltage (LV) networks.

Enel Grids is now looking for innovative solutions to increase the quality of service through better management of voltage fluctuations and current imbalances in Low Voltage (LV) grids. These problems are becoming increasingly frequent, also due to the growing penetration of distributed renewable generation.

The advantages will be:

• capability of dynamic regulation of voltage adaptable to the changing conditions of LV networks;
• reduction of technical losses through phase balancing and reactive power correction;
• contribution to compliance with voltage limits along the LV line and increased capacity for new consumers, producers or prosumers;
• integration into Enel's voltage management solutions catalogue.

Advanced stand-alone equipment based on power electronics will be installed along LV lines for dynamic and automatic control of voltage and current in LV lines with a high proliferation of distributed generation. This equipment will manage the voltage per phase individually and will comply with the European standard EN 50160.
