Seasonal shadow energy

The Barcelona City Council, through the Barcelona Energy Agency, is calling for innovative solutions that allow for the generation of renewable energy while simultaneously creating seasonal shadows, according to the shading or sun exposure needs and requirements of each time of the year.

OBJECTIVES

Generate renewable energy in public spaces and municipal buildings using photovoltaic solar technology.

Create systems for seasonal shading.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

An energy generation system that simultaneously creates areas of seasonal shade, alternating between shading and sun exposure as needed. It should provide shade during periods of heat and high insolation and be easily retractable or reorientable during colder periods to allow for solar radiation.

The ideas must respond to the following principles: flexible, comprehensive, implementable in real environments, scalable, innovative.
