The 2020 GBC is the preeminent global innovation competition for postgraduate students. Having commenced in 2014 as a leadup program to Australia’s hosting of the G20 Leaders’ Summit the GBC has now grown exponentially.
The challenge topic is Resource Recovery and the Circular Economy. The challenge is to develop novel and sustainable solutions to aid in resource recovery and promote the circular economy.
The competition is run over two rounds (this year virtually) with a maximum of 7 teams being invited to participate in the finals in late October.
The 2020 GBC is open to any team of postgraduate students whose solution provides any combination of technology and/or novel business models that in some way addresses this challenge. Students may be from any discipline (but you must check the web site for the eligibility rules).
Finalist will share in over $125,000 (AUD) in cash prizes with potential additional prizes from industry and government partners.
