Group Administrator and Project Technical Manager per al ICN2

This research administration position is tenable at the Nanostructured Materials for Photovoltaic Energy Group of ICN2. It is a full-time position with about half of the time dedicated to Group Administration and the other half to Project Technical Management. The applicant will have experience in managing the day-to-day running of a research group involved in European-level research and coordination/support action projects as well as national projects. The activities of the job holder will include complementing the work of Dr. Monica Lira-Cantu in Management and Dissemination activities. 


In particular, the applicant would be expected to 

1. Work closely with Dr. Lira-Cantu to prepare documentation for project preparation and submission, especially European projects. Make available specific information on calls for proposals highlighting the relevant information to enable targeted scan-reading and filtering of the irrelevant information. 

2. Manage the technical aspects of national and international projects and project meetings. This may involve travelling to the meeting locations when not held locally. The non-technical tasks will be carried out in liaison with the administrative and secretarial/clerical support teams at ICN2-CIN2. 

3. Manage technical reporting with special attention to deadlines, contents and checking for contractual and technical completeness and providing a draft to the head of the group, who will take the responsibility for scientific and technical contents. 

4. Established highly professional and regular contacts with the project scientific advisors, reviewers and project officers as well as with other relevant consortia in addition to project partners (national and European). This includes representing Dra. Lira-Cantu in conducting business with the Nanotechnology Cluster of Bellaterra, whereas appropriate. 

5. Manage and upgrade the contents of the group website in liaison with the secretarial/clerical staff and IT and Communication Departments of ICN2. Liaise with project partners to manage and update the project websites to comply with the policies of the funding agencies and the contractual obligations of each project. 

6. The applicant should manage budgetary functions including purchasing and cost controls of the group, allocating funds and controlling spending within the policy guidelines set by CSIC and ICN2, managing procurements, transactions and finances in liaison with the Purchasing Department of the ICN2. 

The group is led by Dr. Monica Lira-Cantu and was installed at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in February 2008 (www.nanostructuredmaterials.org, www.cin.cat). Its areas of research are: synthesis of nanostructured materials (especially semiconductor oxides), their application in thin film photovoltaic technology (organic, dye and hybrid solar cells).

Open Class "Disseny Sísmic Basat en Acompliment" - UPC School

El dilluns 08-03-2021, a les 16:00, tindrà lloc una Open Class del postgrau en Disseny i Rehabilitació Sismo-Resistents d'Edificis i Ponts (En línia). El disseny sísmic basat en acompliment es considera el mètode més realista per comprendre el comportament sísmic de les estructures. Els codis de disseny més recents l'utilitzen implícitament per aconseguir un disseny segur per a les noves estructures i una avaluació fiable de les existents. En aquesta sessió explicarem la teoria i l'aplicació d'aquest mètode utilitzant models d'anàlisi no lineal. Es mostrarà un exemple real per analitzar l'avaluació sísmica i el reequipament de l'estructura d'una fàbrica existent. El ponent Bashar Alfarah.
