Beamline Scientist Responsible at angular-resolved photoemission per el sincrotró Alba

The successful candidate will:

  • Be in charge of the design, construction and commissioning of the LOREA beamline, with the help of the appropriate ALBA personnel.
  • After the successful commissioninggg of the beamline, and with the help of the beamline team, to provide user support, to carry out in-house research, to maintain and to upgrade the beamline.
  • Develop a scientific program in angular-resolved photoemission.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. in physics, material science, chemistry, engineering or related discipline. He/she should also have a sound experience in synchrotron radiation instrumentation and synchrotron beamline components design. Proven experience in ARPES technique is required

Profound knowledge of synchrotron X-ray optics is a must.

The selected candidate will be the LOREA team leader. Therefore, sense of responsibility, guidance skills as well as ability to lead a team is required.

In addition to that, he/she should have adaptability to international and multidisciplinary environment.

ALBA working language is English. Therefore, a very good level of English both written and spoken is strictly required.

Other assets are

  • Good skills programming languages, especially Python.
  • Knowledge of synchrotron X-ray tracing.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Due to a Spanish current regulation, the contract will be for three years, including a test period of six months. 
This position could be permanent as soon as it becomes possible.

Yearly gross salary in the range 38,000 to 44,000 Euros, according to qualification and experience. The contract includes a test period of 6 months.
