Postdoctoral position for Next-generation Solar Cells per a ICN2

The Institut Català de Nanociencia I Nanotecnologia (http://www.icn.cat) is a non-profit research institute, jointly funded by Catalan Government, the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC). ICN’s focus is excellence in research on nanoscience and nanotechnology. ICN2 has just moved to a new building equipped with state of the art facilities.

The successful candidates will join the Nanostructured Materials for Photovoltaic Energy Group led by Dr. Monica Lira-Cantu. The group specializes on the synthesis and characterization of nanostructured materials and their application in emerging solar cells (Organic solar cells, Perovskite solar cells, Hybrid solar cells, all-oxide solar cells). Degradation and stability studies of the solar cells are also part of the research work of the group.

Job description:

The candidates will work in the area of photovoltaics, especially focused on the fabrication of devices by solution processing methods. The applicant must have knowledge on the characterization of solar cells by diverse techniques like FTIR, UV-vis, NMR, Raman, photoluminescence (PL), TRPL, XPS/UPS spectroscopy; optical ellipsometry; electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical techniques (potentiostatic, EIS); X-ray diffraction (single crystal and powder); electron (SEM and EDX) and AFM microscopy; thermal analysis; rheological and particle size analyses, etc.

Applicants should have completed a PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering or Materials Science or a related discipline. The successful candidate must be self-driven personality, an enquiring mind, enjoy problem-solving and be able to think independently while at the same time working in a group.
