Operations Manager Functional Oils per Holanda

Ideal background: BSc or MSc degree in Food Technology or Chemical Engineering with 5
years experience as a technologist.

The position:

As Operations Manager Functional Oils you are responsible for developing, producing and
delivering functional oils - according to the organisational and client objectives - and
planning focused on quality, quantity, cost and customer satisfaction.

An important part of the function is to (further) develop, control and optimize the entire
process to ensure quality and costs. In this process all components (amongst other client
demands, purchasing, production, mixing and logistics) must be analysed to perform
structural optimization. Of course this is done in close consultation with the internal
departments (laboratory, purchasing, sales, logistics) and external parties (tank storage
companies and audit bodies), suppliers and customers.

The working location is nearby Amsterdam.

The company:

Our client is a successful company in the development, manufacturing and sales of chemical
raw materials for the leather industry, as well as fish oils for feed, food and pharmaceutical

The strength of this 7th generation family company consists of a unique combination of
products, vast knowledge of the market and leading R&D. The company offers its customers
sustainable solutions that meet the latest quality and safety standards. But also the great
commitment, responsibility, responsiveness and dedication to do even better makes the
organization successful. With annual sales of 60,000 tons, they have a leading global market

The company employs approximately 170 employees, of which 120 in the Netherlands. In
addition to production sites in Amersfoort and Weesp, the company has manufacturing and
sales offices in Italy, China and sales offices in Germany and Switzerland. The company has
also been working closely for more than 25 years with a Dutch production facility where 90%
of the refining of the functional oils takes place.

Your profile:

Education and experience:

The ideal candidate has a BSc or MSc degree in Food Technology or Chemical Engineering
with an absolute minimum of 5 years experience as a technologist in a production
environment, preferably in the food industry. He or she has experience in leading teams and
changes in a production environment. Knowledge and experience in the field of industrial
processing of oils and fats is preferred. A must for this position is a good knowledge of laws
and regulations on safety, environment and health in a food environment.

You are a self-starter with a high degree of responsibility who likes to make a difference. You
have good organizational and planning skills and you can take into account the interests of
the various departments. Good communication and persuasion skills to ‘move’ people and
getting things done. This is important, since the position does not have direct reports.
Furthermore it's essential to have an assertive, results-oriented, collegial and analytical way
of working.

A professional command of the English language is a must. Dutch is, in time, preferable.

The offer:

The organization is characterized by an ambitious and family atmosphere where growth and
professionalism are paramount. For the right candidate this growth provides the ideal
opportunity to develop, both nationally and internationally. Entrepreneurship and initiative is
encouraged and appreciated; rewarded both in financial sense as in growth opportunities.

The working conditions are competitive and representative.
