The International Transport Forum (ITF) is a global intergovernmental organisation within the OECD family which presently brings together more than 50 Transport Ministers to discuss the strategic and policy challenges of the sector. The Transport Policy and Summit Preparation Division is looking for an experienced Transport Policy Analyst/Administrator with a range of both analytical and organisational skills to contribute to the annual Summit preparation. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Policy and Summit Preparation and work as a member of the Summit Team. 

Main Responsibilities

Summit Co-ordination

• Play an active role in the development and the preparation of ITF’s Annual Summit, in particular the development of its Programme. 
• Supervise and manage the organisation and budgetary aspects of different parts of the Summit, including, but not exclusively, Summit Sessions, Gala Dinner, Side Events, Awards ceremonies, Registration and Invitation process and Delegate Materials. This necessitates both working with remote third-party providers at the Summit venue, the Summit team and other areas of the ITF and OECD where necessary. 
• Organise, as needed, preparatory events, including meetings of ITF bodies such as the Summit Task Forces and Forum-related seminars, workshops and/or stakeholders meetings.

Analysis and drafting

• Draft and submit substantive inputs to the Summit including by synthesizing available research and analysis.
• Prepare documents and guidelines for discussion, produce policy analyses and select and brief Summit speakers and participants.

Representation and liaison 

• Maintain and develop strong relations with other relevant international organisations, national administrations and Member country Delegations.
• Actively promote the Organisation to key stakeholders and interact with civil society organisations, think tanks, academia as well as international organisations. 
• Organise outreach activities to enhance engagement with key stakeholders.
• Represent the International Transport Forum at external conferences and meetings.
• Participate in the supervision of the work of support staff, contractors, external consultants and trainees.

Candidate’s profile

Academic Background

• An advanced university degree or equivalent in economics, business, engineering or a related area. 
• Specialisation in a transport-related field with a sound understanding of transport economics, policy and or equivalent professional experience (at managerial level) in the transport sector.

Professional Background

• Between three and seven years relevant experience in transport policy challenges and analysis of transport issues in research institutions, private sector, government bodies or international organisations. Contacts and experience of working with international organisations and other key stakeholders in the transport sector would be an advantage.
• Experience of presenting complex issues at meeting and conferences.
• Excellent communications skills, including the ability to explain technical, economic and political issues in a clear and concise way to expert and lay audiences alike. 
• Excellent drafting skills in English.
• An excellent written and oral command of one of the two official languages of the OECD (English and French) and working knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the other.

Contract Duration
7-8 months fixed term.
